Once in Austria

1988 is the fiftieth anniversary of Hitler's triumph in Austria, the first sovereign state he incorporated into the German Reich. This is the story of Alma who grew up in her medieval Austrian town. At the age of six, Alma is befriended by a boy twice her age, Freddy. He is the first person to make her aware of the political threats to her beautiful childhood world.
