Apparitions

An analysis of two hundred first-hand accounts of experiences in which people saw, heard or sometimes even touched people or things that were "not really there". The authors advance the hypothesis that some, or even all, apparitional experiences are "metachoric", meaning the whole of the visual field is hallucinatory.
